It applies specifically to individuals who: request or receive mobility services (rides) through their DDirect account ("Riders");

DDirect's data collection practices comply with applicable laws across various jurisdictions. If you travel internationally or across different regions, please note that data processing practices might differ from those in your home area due to local regulations.
DDirect collects data directly provided by you, gathered when you use our services, and obtained from third-party sources. This includes account information, demographic data (such as age, gender, and university affiliation), identity verification details, user-generated content, and travel itinerary information. Additionally, when you interact with DDirect's apps or websites, we collect location data, trip and order details, usage information, device data (including push notification tokens), and communications data such as in-app messages.
For users who apply to be drivers, we collect additional information necessary for verification and platform safety. This may include vehicle information (make, model, year, color, and license plate), vehicle photographs (front, back, sides, and license plate), insurance documentation, driver photographs, and background check information (including the date and result of the background check).
DDirect also collects and stores third-party payment platform identifiers, such as Venmo or Cash App usernames or profile links, to facilitate peer-to-peer payments directly between users.
Data from external sources includes information from government entities, background check providers, marketing partners, service providers, DDirect account owners, business partners, referral programs, and third-party apps linked to your DDirect account.
DDirect uses your data to provide, personalize, and improve our services. This includes account creation and management, identity and driver verification, enabling app features and navigation, facilitating rides, calculating prices, processing or enabling payments, and communicating with users.
We also use collected data to promote safety and trust on the platform, including fraud prevention, background check verification, enforcement of platform rules, account moderation, and retention of suspension or enforcement history when necessary for safety, compliance, or dispute resolution.
Ratings and feedback provided by users are stored and used to improve service quality and may be visible to other users on the platform.
Your data may be shared with other users as necessary to facilitate services (for example, sharing driver profiles, ratings, vehicle details, or payment identifiers between riders and drivers). Information such as ratings and limited profile details may be visible to other users.
DDirect also shares data with service providers, including background check vendors, cloud hosting providers, analytics providers, customer support tools, and payment-related service partners. Data may also be shared with business partners, subsidiaries, and affiliates, or disclosed when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of DDirect, its users, or the public.
DDirect retains personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. This includes retaining certain information related to safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, account moderation, and legal compliance.
Users may request account deletion. Upon deletion, personal data is generally removed within 90 days, unless longer retention is required by law or is necessary to resolve ongoing safety, security, or legal matters.
You have options to access, modify, and control your data through your account settings, device permissions, and in-app features. This includes managing notification preferences, ratings, and certain profile information. You may also request access to your data, request corrections, restrict processing in certain circumstances, or request account deletion.
